How California compares

Golf.com, citing Supreme Golf tee-time data, put California's average booked round at $70 in 2023, the highest of the four states we cover here (New Jersey $62, North Carolina $64, New York $47). That is what people paid on a tee-time site, not a fee list. The spread inside the state is wide: $20 for nine holes at a Los Angeles municipal course to $695 at Pebble Beach. For the Monterey peninsula in particular, see our pages for Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill and Cypress Point.
