Design
Mizuno calls the JPX919 Forged its most versatile iron, with "the ultimate blend of ball speed, stability, and feedback within a more refined playing profile." Mizuno says the boron in the steel makes it stronger. Golfalot describes a micro-slot cap in the cavity, 5 grams moved from heel to toe, and a center of gravity 1.8 mm closer to the face center, and calls it one of the best mid-sized forged irons for single-figure players. National Club Golfer sees it as forgiving yet stylish, with no upcharge on a wide range of shafts. We could not find the stock shaft or grip.
JPX919 and JPX921
The Mizuno JPX921 Forged followed in 2020. Golf Monthly notes the JPX921's lofts are one degree stronger in the 4 to 8 irons than the generation before, which fits the JPX919's 22-degree 4-iron against the JPX921's 21 in the table we hold for it (not verified). For another forged cavity-back iron from the same era, see the Titleist T100.
