The lightest stand bag in this list is the Callaway Hyperlite Zero at 2.9 lbs, followed by the OGIO Featherlite at 3.6 lbs and the Titleist Players 4 at 3.7 lbs. The weights below come from each maker's page, not from our own scale. We included the bags we have reviewed on this site, sorted by weight, and kept the heavier PING and Stitch bags in for their pocket layouts, so "lightweight" here runs from 2.9 to 5.5 lbs. For the full category, start with our golf stand bags guide.

Makers revise bags from year to year, and some of the weights above differ from older figures in our earlier reviews. The table uses the current maker pages.

Weight is not the only spec

In this table, the lightest bag, the Hyperlite Zero, lists 9 pockets and 4 full-length dividers, the same pocket count as the much heavier PING Hoofer Lite. Check the pocket count and divider layout as well as the weight.

Pick by pick

Callaway Hyperlite Zero

Callaway lists the current Hyperlite Zero at 2.9 lbs, with 9 pockets and 4 full-length club dividers, and calls it its lightest stand bag. It is the lightest bag in this list. Our Callaway Hyper Lite Zero review covers an earlier model year, so its weight and pocket count differ.

Titleist Players 4

Titleist lists the Players 4 at 3.7 lbs with a 4-way top cuff and full-length dividers. See our Titleist Players 4 review.

OGIO Featherlite and Fuse

OGIO's stand-bag list shows the Featherlite at 3.6 lbs and the Fuse at 4.4 lbs, both with an over-molded 4-way top. OGIO describes the Featherlite as its lightest option for walkers. Our OGIO stand bag review covers the brand more broadly.

PING Hoofer Lite

PING lists the Hoofer Lite at 5 lbs with a 4-way top, 9 pockets (including a rangefinder pocket and a ball pocket), padded convertible straps and a 19L pocket volume. It is heavier than the three bags above, but its pocket layout is a reason to pick it. Our PING Hoofer Lite review goes through it.

Stitch SL2 Gen 2

Stitch lists the SL2 Gen 2 at 5.5 lbs without the strap, with a 4-way divider system and stand feet. Stitch also advertises the SL2 range as "only 4 pounds" on its collection page, so check which version you are buying. See our Stitch SL1 vs SL2 comparison and Vessel vs Stitch.

Our Shapland bag review covers another lightweight option, but we could not confirm current maker weights for it.

Stand, pencil and cart bags

For a smaller carry option see our Callaway Carry+ pencil bag review. If you use a push cart, see the best golf bag for a push cart.

How to choose

  1. Decide the weight you want to carry, using the maker-listed weights above as a guide.
  2. Count the dividers you need for 14 clubs. A 4-way top is common; check that the dividers are full length.
  3. Check the pocket count against what you bring: rangefinder, water, rain gear.
  4. Check the strap: a double strap spreads the load across both shoulders.
