The Golf Buddy GB9 WTX+ is one of the best golf GPS watch of 2021. It seems like GolfBuddy’s idea was to optimize the watch’s potential with as many features as possible, including the GolfBuddy Smartphone App.

Don’t be turned off if you are not looking to deal with another large, clunky app. It has more benefits than issues when it comes to staying connected and getting the most out of your round.

While it isn’t a “perfect” product, for the price – it truly is hard to beat. Every weekend warrior deserves to play better golf and one of the easiest ways to improve your game is to improve the information that you have available on each shot.

The GB9 WTX+ comes with a touch screen display to eliminate the need for any buttons. We wanted to take a quick second to point out that this is a very budget friendly, touch screen golf gps watch. 

This watch features a full color screen display. On each hole you have access to everything – from play modes (to help keep the game interesting), hazards, and hole views to a pin selection screen.

This watch takes the question out of shot distance and will track the time you spend on the course (not to shame you).

Style

The golf watch is slim and lightweight, and extremely comfortable to wear. We want to highlight that this is a unisex golf watch. However, it has more of a male/sporty/athletic look to it. Some amazon customers said that the face was a little thick for them. When compared to some of the popular athletic watches today (thing a G-shock), it is very similar in face size.

Display

Display is one of the best features of GolfBuddy GB9 WTX+ GPS watch. With a great colorful screen that is very visable in thall conditons. You will not struggle to see the yardage and pick the correct club. If you are not into all of the color there is a black/white interfaces with numbers displayed in large font to simplify everything. They can both be read easily, come sun or rain, even without sunglasses.

Accuracy

According to our on course test and the information we were able to find online, all GolfBuddy GPS’ are accurate within 3 yards. 

Battery Life

A downside to the watch is it’s short – eight hour battery life. In our tests, we were able to get about two rounds out of it before it died. To make things worse, it takes about a good amount of time to charge back up. While the battery life is not fantastic compared to other watches, we do believe that two full rounds of golf is as much as anyone would be playing in one day. This is the only con that we were able to find with this watch.

Membership & Subscription Fees

GolfBuddy is one of the few golf GPS brands that do not extort clients with subscription fees. You only need to register on their website for free course map updates.
