Bushnell Golf Watch Not Charging

Bushnell makes the most convenient equipment for golf players and enthusiasts. They can use GPS watches and rangefinders to have insight into the field and their game. But sometimes, this equipment can malfunction, too. What if your Bushnell golf watch is not charging? Learn what to do about it here.

There can be several reasons why your Bushnell golf watch isn’t charging. One could be software related, which wouldn’t warrant more than a simple device reset. The other could be a damaged or dirty charging port, which is solved with deep cleaning. If these solutions fail, you can try a new charger or a completely new device.

Bushnell Golf Watch Not Charging – What to Do

The Bushnell golf watch is a GPS device for golfers that helps them monitor their gameplay and style. Moreover, it’s also beneficial on large fairways, where it could be easy to get lost. Imagine going to the Hilton Head courses without it!

Yet, technology isn’t unbreakable, and Bushnell GPS machines are no different. You’ve likely encountered a charging problem with your watch and don’t know how to fix it. The manufacturer has written advice and instructions on what to do in that situation.

They recommend a deep clean, but we’ve added other options if it just turns out to be an easily fixable glitch.

Try a Simple Solution First – Resetting the Device

This may be a tired joke, but “have you tried turning it off and on again?” is a legitimate question. Sometimes, a hard reset is necessary for a device to return to its original state. Before you judge a tip that seems to be intelligence-insulting, try it. You’d be surprised how well it works sometimes.

Maybe it’s a glitch in the software, or the watch has been on for too long without any special resets or shutdowns. A GPS device or a golf rangefinder is worth it if you know how to take care of it well. Every device needs some love and attention to work properly.

Do a Deep Clean to Renew the Contact Area

Bushnell has these tips on their website, including what to use and what not to use when cleaning. According to the manufacturer, the GPS watch may not be charging because of a contact issue, like build-up.

All of Bushnell’s GPS watches have a four-point charging contact on the back; this watch area is always directly touching the skin. This area can get soiled and lose charge when you’re out and about and sweating from the excellent golf game you’re serving.

Before you start your game of two holes next time, ensure your golf watch is clean and ready to take notes. Here’s how to deep-clean it:

  • Get a soft cloth,
  • Get window cleaning solution,
  • Mix water and mild soap to make a gentle solution,
  • Dip the cloth in one of these; not too much nor too little – the important thing is that it doesn’t drip,
  • Rub the back of the GPS watch gently with the wetted cloth,
  • Use the dry ends or another dry cloth to dry off the charging area,
  • Reset the watch,
  • Try to charge it.
  • If the charge doesn’t happen, wipe the USB adapter station, too, but be careful with the amount of liquid as it’s not waterproof.

What Not to Use When Deep Cleaning Your Bushnell Golf Watch

The GPS watch is waterproof but still sensitive to some types of liquids and solutions. Here’s what you shouldn’t use for cleaning it:

  • Acetone,
  • Paint thinners,
  • Rubbing alcohol,
  • Other nail polish removers,
  • Hand sanitizer.

Change the Charger for Extra Precaution

Finally, if nothing works, you can find a Bushnell store nearby and either get a new charger or potentially ask the store employees to check if your golf watch can charge. The manufacturer offers a one-year warranty on all their products, and you can use that to your advantage if it hasn’t been over a year.

If None of These Work – Your Device May Have Run Its Course

Sometimes, none of these solutions will help; the only issue is that the device has come to the end of its life. If it’s served you well, you can always find a new one to upgrade. Still, before you decide this is it, try one of the methods above. You may even be able to reach out to Bushnell personally and ask for their opinion – don’t give up on it right away.
